*****

Black Hawk Down (2002) [5]
Very gritty war film. Some very graphic scenes, but well done. I loved every action packed minute.

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings (2001) [4.5]
Never reading the books, I did not know what to expect. Visually, one of the best films I have seen, Incredible.

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King(2003) [4.5]
The best film in the triology. See this film before it leaves theatres or you will regret it.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers(2003) [4.5]
Phenominal film. Just wish I had seen it on the big screen. Even if you don't like this film, it is worth seeing for the fight scenes.

Lost In Translation(2003) [4.5]
I really enjoyed this film. While I love Bill Murray at his goofiest, this film explores his depth as a genious actor.

Shrek (2001) [4.5]
Super film. One of the best animated features ever!

Spiderman (2002) [5]
This was a great comic-to-big screen film. Very fast paced, great effects...generally a great movie.

Spiderman 2(2004) [4.5]
Just as good as the first. More story, better effects and just an all around great film.

8 Mile (2002) [4]
A good film. Very gritty and raw. Certainly not a Detroit tourism promo!

American Pie 2 (2001) [4]
On rare occassion, sequels are better than the original. This film is one of those rare exceptions. Very, VERY funny.

Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) [3.5]
Not the best in the series, but possibly the funniest. I laughed so much during the entire film.

Bruce Almighty (2003) [4]
This was a hilarious film. Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston made this a very funny film with a unique idea.

Catch Me If You Can (2003) [4]
This was a really good film. I very fun and light look at a man who made fraud a profession.

Evolution (2001) [4]
Just a silly fun film. David Duchoveny shows his true colors in this film.

The Fast and the Furious (2001) [4]
Another action packed film. Different in subject matter than a lot of films out at the time. Very intense.

Finding Nemo (2003) [4]
This was a very cute film. When Pixar and Disney mix it up, you know you will have something good to watch. This is definitely worth seeing.

Frailty (2001) [3.5]
If you want to see a dark and disturbing film, this is a good one.

Gangs of New York (2002) [4 stars]
This was a very gripping and real look at a period in our country's history that not many people know about, despite the fact they know about the city.

Jackass (2002) [4]
A no-thought film. I laughed so hard at many of these stupid stunts.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) [4]
One of only two Kevin Smith films to rank this high on my list. That must mean it is pretty good and rally funny.

Joy Ride (2001) [4]
Anyone who ever played on their dad's CB (me) will be scared to death of this film. Good flick.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) [4]
Superb Tarantino film. I wouldn't recommend this to the squeamish, but then again there isn't a Tarantino film that I would.

The Mexican (2001) [3.5]
Although critics panned this film, I thought it was funny and very well done. I liked it a lot.

Monsters Inc. (2001) [4]
Superb cartoon. Written well so that both children and adults can enjoy the entire film.

Ocean's 11 (2001) [4]
Funny and irreverant. One of those films that is intense and funny. Would never win an Oscar, but still fun to watch.

Old School (2002) [3.5]
This was a pretty funny film. It did not live up to my expectations, though. Still funny and worth seeing.

The Recruit (2003) [3.5]
This was a pretty good film. I loved the ending...very nicely done.

Signs (2002) [4]
I really liked this film. The only reason it got a four is because of a somewhat predictable ending. Overall good movie.

Snatch (2001) [4]
One of Guy Ritchie's best. Brad Pitt was great in this film. Just a fun movie.

Sweet Home Alabama (2002) [3.5]
This movie is cute and so is Reese Witherspoon.

XXX (2002) [4]
Super film. Very fast paced and action packed. Vin Diesel will make this role thrive into a franchise similar to Bond.

Anger Management(2003) [3]
Not nearly as funny as I expected. Still not too bad. Worth a look on a rainy day.

Darkness Falls(2003) [1.5]
This movie was bad. Just ugly. Not scary...not even funny scary! I recommend you spend your rental fee on something else.

Drumline (2002) [3 stars]
A pretty decent film. I am a sucker for marching bands, so I took a personal liking to this film. Well done and great music.

Enough (2002) [3]
Jennifer Lopez kicks butt. A good movie for women with low self confidence to watch.

Eurotrip(2003) [3 stars]
Funny flick with a lot of no name actors...and few you might recognize! Another Road Trip/American Pie kind of film, but I liked it.

The Good Girl (2002) [3 stars]
By far, Jennifer Aniston's best performance. This film is worth seeing just to see her in a different role than any other she has ever been in.

How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days  (2002) [3 stars]
This was a cute film, but not really my cup of tea! I give it a 3, though, because of the unique twist to a well used story.

Hannibal (2001) [3]
Not as good as the original, but Hopkins still scares the bejesus out of me as Hannibal Lecter.

Heartbreakers (2001) [2.5]
An okay film. Gene Hackman's character is hilarious.

The Hot Chick (2002) [3]
A fairly decent comedy. A lot of dumb humor...but what more would you expect.

The Italian Job(2003) [3 stars]
This was a decent film. It was fairly predictable, but still fun to watch. I do want to see the original now based on what I saw here.

Just Married (2003) [3]
This is a cute and funny film. All married couples should see it together.

K-Pax (2001) [3]
Not Kevin Spacey's best work, but still okay. Favorite line: "BLUEBIRD"

Monster's Ball (2002) [3]
Good message, so-so film. Many people liked this a lot more than me, but I just found it to be okay.

Mr. Deeds (2002) [3]
Not Sandler's funniest movie, but still funny nonetheless.

The Mummy Returns (2001) [3]
Not as good as the sequel, but still not that bad. Visual effects were cool.

Not Another Teen Movie (2001) [3]
Not the greatest spoof film on the market, but it is still pretty damn funny. The Varsity Blues spoofs are the best.

O (2001) [3]
This film was okay. It seemed a bit forced, but I think the message still got across.

One Hour Photo (2002) [3]
Robin Williams' darkest role to date. Okay movie, despite William's great performance.

The Rundown (2003) [3]
The Rock, Sean William Scott and Christopher Walken...who would have guessed this combo could make an entertaining film. Not to bad.

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) [3]
This film is quite funny and Gene Hackman is great.

The Rules of Attraction (2002) [3]
Very dark look at college life. My mind wavers on whether this film was horrible or great...thus the three rating.

Scary Movie 3(2003) [3 stars]
Funnier than the second, but not nearly as good as the first. I love Leslie Neilson...he is comedy gold.

Shallow Hal (2001) [3]
Despite the fact that I dislike Jack Black, this film is pretty good.

Super Troopers (2002) [3]
This film is hilarious. If you want to laugh at cops, this is fantastic.

S.W.A.T(2003) [3]
Not great, but not bad. This was pretty much what I expected. Lots of shooting, etc. The movie did movie quickly and I found myself amazed it was over when it was.

Swimfan (2002) [2.5]
Okay film. Not much to say other than okay film.

Valentine (2001) [2.5]
I hesitated to rate this as I did. I found it to be very lame, but my wife was freaked out. That gives it more points!

A Walk to Remember (2001) [2.5]
This rating = Shane West; good...Mandy Moore; bad.

The Wedding Planner (2001) [3]
Cutesy movie. Definitely a good date movie.

Zoolander (2001) [3]
Typical Ben Stiller. If he is involved, stupidity will ensue.

**

Changing Lanes (2001) [2]
I expected more from Samuel Jackson and Ben Affleck. I got a lot less.

National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002) [2]
Some parts were hysterical, while others...not so much.

Sorority Boys (2002) [2]
Just not all that funny. If not for Harlen Williams, the film would have been rated a lot lower.

Minority Report (2002) [1]
Although many would disagree, I flat out hated this film. Speilberg and Cruise combined should have been able to make a better film.

Scary Movie 2 (2001) [.5]
Horrible movie. It wouldn't have any rate had it not been for Chris Elliott.
